29/04/2019 PCA at RIMS 2019: shaping the future of Risk Management
PCA is attending the RIMS (Risk & Insurance Management Society) 2019 Annual Conference which takes place in Boston from April 28th to May 1st and represents one of the top opportunity to network with the risk management and insurance community, to share our projects and innovations and to meet big players from all around the world – also as the italian representative of Brokerslink, the global network of brokers.
PCA is present with our CEO Roberto Armana, Roberto Castelli (Senior Consultant Risk Manager) and Alessandro Fiori (International Account).
RIMS 2019 is a very crowded event filled with a global network of over 10,000 members across more than 60 countries.
This time the RIMS 2019 will cover a broad range of key topics, including cyber risk and diversity and inclusion in the insurance and risk management sector, but the industry’s insurtech wave will receive megabytes of attention.
Key topic of this edition is the latest wave of technology in insurance that needs to be addressed as one of the biggest things to hit the insurance industry in the last 30 years.
Technology is changing the world and our profession: insurtech is really taking the industry by storm, and in recent history this is the biggest thing out there.
RIMS will feature its first-ever Insurtech Competition, described by organizers as a “Shark Tank”-style showdown in which startups will demonstrate their risk-focused technology solutions before a panel of risk professionals. The competition will highlight technological advancements in artificial intelligence, the “Internet of Things,” mobile applications and other insurtech solutions that allow organizations to gather and analyze better data, search for trends and root causes of risks, and improve functions, according to organizers.
Cyber risk will also be at the forefront with a record nine sessions offered at this year’s conference — several of which were added in recent weeks to keep up with demand. That’s an ever-evolving exposure that we all have. No company is immune to cyber exposures.
Erin Meyer, a business consultant who offers managers advice on navigating cultural differences in the global marketplace, has delivered Monday morning’s opening keynote, “The Culture Map: Breaking Through the Invisible Boundaries of Global Business,” while tennis champion Billie Jean King will deliver the closing keynote on Wednesday.
As it’s written in its thirty years of history, PCA continues to work in international networks to share and gather new energy to be channeled into its exclusive services for our customers: that’s how we build our – and your – future: Fuel your Future.
